More air flights delayed because of fog in Moldova

Chisinau, 26 November /MOLDPRES/ - More air flights today were delayed because of thick fog fallen at the Chisinau International Airport.

According to the airport’s official website, there are delays of more hours in the landing of airships flying from Bucharest, Istanbul, Moscow and Minsk. At the same time, the flight to Istanbul is delayed too.

Contacted by MOLDPRES, the head of the weather forecasts centre at the State Hydrometeorological Service, Ghenadie Rosca, said that the fog would disperse in the afternoon. “At present, the fog is maintained in the capital and several settlements from the southern region. Fog will persist on the days to come too,” Rosca noted.

The State Hydrometeorological Service announced Yellow Code of complicated weather conditions for 26-27 November. Rains and sleet are expected on these days. Today evening and on the night of 27 November, heavy precipitation is forecast (the quantity of precipitation is seen to be 15-20 litres/square metre and the snow layer is to reach 10-15 cm). Glazed frost is expected in some places. Roads will be covered with ice.
