Moldova to open embassy in Ireland

Chisinau, 7 December /MOLDPRES/- Boosting the Moldovan-Irish relations, including through the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova, due to be opened in Dublin next year, was discussed at the yesterday’s meeting in Milan bewteen Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Tudor Ulianovschi and Minister of State of Ireland Paul Kehoe.

According to the MAEIE’s press service, Ulianovschi thanked the Irish government for willingness for deepening the political, commercial, economic and social dialogue with our country. He noted that with the establishment of the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Moldova in Dublin, the necessary prerequisites will be created to fully turn to good account the Moldovan-Irish cooperation potential.

"The presence of an important number of our diaspora in Ireland is proof of the attractiveness of the Irish culture and economic model for our citizens, and in this regard, we want a sustainable partnership based on mutually beneficial projects for the welfare of our citizens,” Ulianovschi said.

The Irish Minister of State has greatly appreciated the new perspectives that are being developed in order to boost the dialogue between the two countries, especially in the context of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Moldovan-Irish diplomatic relations in 2019. In this respect, Paul Kehoe invited the Moldovan official to visit Dublin in the near future to have meetings with senior Irish officials.
