Moldovan police warned people be cautious during winter holidays

Chisinau, 24 December /MOLDPRES/- National police warned the population to be cautious during the winter holidays, when home burglars and pocket thieves operate.

“It is easier to prevent than to suffer the unwanted consequences and to keep the holidays quiet and without unpleasant events, the police recommend that citizens consider a minimum of self-protection measures, " a press release by General Police Inspectorate (IGP) reads.

Police also recommend increased home security measures while the owners are away on vacation.

The General Police Inspectorate asks citizens not to abuse alcohol, which is a high risk of tragedies, does not get drunk driving and cautions about the use of pyrotechnics.

"We wish all citizens of the Republic of Moldova happy holidays, and if you become the victim of a crime, do not hesitate, call the police immediately to the emergency number 112," IGP said.
