Chisinau, 9 January /MOLDPRES/- About 300 policemen benefited from housing allowance in the past five months.

Deputy Head of the General Police Inspectorate Gheorghe Cavcaliuc said that another 56 applications were approved at the last meeting of the Commission regarding the payment of the compensation for renting the housing for police officers.

“Applications were submitted by seven families of policemen, who presented all the documents. Beneficiaries of financial support are more law enforcement officers from different police subdivisions: patrol officers, employees of the Legal Department, Finance Directorate, General Security Directorate, and Fulger special-purpose brigade, investigation officers and criminal investigation officers from Chisinau, Cahul, Straseni, Ungheni, Cimislia, Vulcanesti, Comrat, Rascani, Stefan-Voda, Orhei and Causeni. However, more officers from Chisinau and Hancesti will get allowance,” he said.

Submission of applications started in August. “As head of the committee, I promise that together with my colleagues, we will examine the applications as soon as possible. I encourage all policemen who are renting to submit necessary documents to receive the financial support,” he said.

The financial aid for rental housing is set according to the official salary and varies from 1,300 to 2,000 lei.

In late June 2018, the government approved a regulation stipulating that civil servants with special status within the Ministry of Internal Affairs will receive monetary compensation for rental housing.

Beneficiaries of financial support are officials with special status within the Ministry of Interior who are not insured with housing and have a permanent living place located more than 30 km from the workplace.
