Russia imposes restrictions on import of more goods transiting Ukraine

Chisinau, 15 January /MOLDPRES/ - Russia has introduced restrictions on the import of more categories of goods coming from Ukraine or which transit the territory of this country. The Embassy of Ukraine in Moldova informed the Moldovan Customs Service about this decision.   

The restrictions were adopted by the Russian cabinet on 29 December 2018 and have already entered into force on 1 January 2019.  

Under the same document, the transiting of restricted goods is allowed through the territory of Russia to third countries, on condition that decision-makers ensure possibility of following their carriage and of putting the seals, on goods’ divisions of vehicles, including of those working based on the Global Orbiting Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS).

According to data by the Customs Service, starting from 1 January 2019, when the bans entered into force, and so far, decision-makers have recorded two cases of return of goods from Moldova, meant to be exported to Russia or to another third country, by transiting the territory of Russia.
