Rescuers de-block school bus, two ambulances from snow drifts in Moldova

Chisinau, 24 January /MOLDPRES/ – The rescuers intervened in recent 24 hours in 18 situations for de-blocking and hauling the means of transport on the routes of Moldova. They pulled out a school bus, two ambulances and six trucks that could not move in the slopes.

The press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU),  Liliana Puscasu, stated that the help of rescuers was needed on the roads in districts Rascani, Ungheni, Hancesti, Soldanesti, Edinet, Soroca, Calarasi, Rezina, Cahul, Gagauzia and Chisinau municipality. "The IGSU's employees had the task of drawing a school bus without pupils near Parcani locality, Soldanesti district, but also a patient ambulance near Rublenita locality, Soroca district. Six trucks that could not move in the slope were de-blocked by the firemen of Rezina, and another ambulance that hurried to the patient was dragged by the rescuers of Ungheni. The rescuers from the Balti Exceptional Situation Directorate (DSEB) had a more unusual mission on 23 January. They brought bread for the locals of village Valea Norocului, Sangerei district. The rescuers shared bread for elderly persons, but also for disabled ones. Eleven families have benefited from the help of the firefighters," said Puscasu.

She added that the employees of IGSU would continue to monitor the situation in the country and intervene at requests of citizens. In case of risks, people are urged to call the 112 Service urgently.

The meteorologists forecasr snowfalls in upcoming days. At night, thermometres will indicate up to – 08ºC in the north of Moldova, and the day will record up to + 03ºC in the south. It will snow throughout Moldova.
