Chisinau, 18 March /MOLDPRES/- The StartUp Academy program, funded by the European Union, was launched late last week in the Transnistrian region. This is a platform for beginner entrepreneurs that will support them in initiating and developing a business.

20 participants presented their business ideas. After a training process and the elaboration of an activity plan, six or seven winners will be selected, who will receive a grant of 2,000 euros.

"Within the program, five modules will be organized, one each month, on different topics: market analysis, sales, marketing or production plan formation. After conducting these modules, the winning projects will be selected, " director of the Investment Agency in Tiraspol Andrei Betanov said.

Representative of the EU Delegation to Moldova Marco Gemmer noted that such projects offer a clearer vision on the future of young people and provide opportunities. "When we talk about the future, we should listen to what young people say. This project is a good opportunity to combine the efforts of beginners with the experience of those who are long experienced, " Gemmer said.

Earlier, several social projects funded by the European Union and the government of Sweden have been launched in the left bank of the Dniester region. In January 2017, the East European Foundation launched the project "Build Bridges, We Overcome Barriers", which supports the cooperation between civil society organizations on both banks of the Dniestre river and is based on an apolitical approach. The planned actions are meant to create nongovernmental networks and generate successful practices across the region. The project has a total budget of over one million euros and is due to be implemented by late 2019.
