Chisinau, 19 March /MOLDPRES/ - Tiraspol is interested in the signing of more agreements with Chisinau and speaks out for improving the political climate. The alleged president of the breakaway Moldovan Transnistrian republic, Vadim Krasnoselsky, made statements to this effect at a meeting with U.S. Ambassador to Moldova Derek Hogan on 18 March.

„We are interested in final decisions, carrying out of the earlier agreements, as well as the signing of new accords,” Krasnoselsky said.

The Tiraspol leader voiced hope that the five-plus-two negotiations on the Transnistrian settlement would continue.

For his part, the U.S. ambassador noted that the nomination of a new group for negotiations on behalf of Chisinau fully depended on the democratic processes carried out in Moldova following the elections.

„We are partners interested in the five-plus-two format and we want this process to get on. The parliamentary polls are over and till the creation of a new government, we would like to discuss a string of issues with the Transnistrian side, so that we learn your position in this respect,” Derek Hogan stressed. The diplomat specified that, for the Embassy of the United States, it was important to maintain good relations in the Transnistrian region.
