Chisinau, 21 March /MOLDPRES/- Starting from 1 April 2019, the minimum old-age pension will be 1079.33 lei, according to a government decision that will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 22 March.

Currently, it is 1,025 lei.

According to the government decision, from 1 April, pensions will increase by 5.3 percent. Indexation coefficient was determined according to the average annual increase in consumer price index over the past three years.

The decision also stipulates that the amount of the minimum disability pension will be 809.5 lei in case of a severe disability, 755.53 lei - acute disability and 539.67 lei - average disability.

If the amount of the pension calculated according to the law is lower than the minimum pension amount for the respective category, the difference will be covered from the state budget means.

The decision on indexation of social insurance and state social benefits will enter into force on 1 April 2019.
