Moldovan PM meets with delegation of U.S. Congressmen

Chisinau, 19 April /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, has met today with a delegation of U.S. Congress, paying a visit to Moldova. The PM has said that Moldova dedicates special attention to bilateral relations with the USA and appreciated the good cooperation between Moldova and the USA, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

The Premier highlighted in particular the U.S. support in settling the Transnistrian conflict. Also, Pavel Filip specified the importance of strengthening the security of Moldova in general, as well as energy security, and the U.S. support being a valuable one on it.

The PM also referred to the most important reforms implemented by Government, which ensured stabilisation of banking sector and a steady economic growth, averaging 4 per cent in recent 3 years. Similarly, the Government's actions to improve the business environment have helped to increase the investment flow. Thus, a group of important American companies also showed interest in investing in Moldova. "We want to exploit as much as possible the economic and investment potential of the Moldovan – American bilateral relations," said Pavel Filip.

In this context, PM noted that it is marked the 20th anniversary of Moldova – North Carolina Bilateral Partnership in 2019, which is an example of beneficial cooperation over years. Currently, with the support of North Carolina, there have been implemented several projects within defence, social and educational fields in Moldova.

The representatives of U.S. Congress appreciated bilateral dialogue, expressing their interest in further strengthening bilateral relations in areas of mutual interest.
