Moldovan leu to depreciate against euro, U.S. dollar

Chisinau, 23 April /MOLDPRES/ – The national currency (MDL) depreciates slightly against the euro (EUR) and U.S. dollar (USD), according to the official exchange rates set by the National Bank of Moldova (BNM) for 24 April.

Thus, USD goes up to MDL 17.89, and EUR adds MDL 0.02 up to MDL 20.13.

Similarly, the Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH) cheapens down to MDL 0.66. The Romanian leu (RON) remains unchanged – MDL 04.22, while the Russian rouble (RUB) still costs MDL 0.28.

The BNM's data reveal that in March, the net demand of foreign currency’s coverage by economic agents in the net supply of foreign currency from individuals constituted 120.3 per cent, compared with 47 per cent in February.
