Chisinau, 24 April /MOLDPRES/ - The minimum guaranteed salary in the real sector will increase by 165 lei up to 2,775 lei as of 1 May 2019, under a decision approved by the cabinet today. In the last seven years, the minimum guaranteed salary has been increased by 1,575 lei.

Under the legislation in force, in case of enforcement by the economic units of the tariff or non-tariff salary payment system, the monthly salary of an employee cannot be lower than the minimum guaranteed quantum of the salary in the real sector, annually set by the government, depending on the annual summary growth of the consumption index and of the rate of increase in the labour productivity nationally.

The government decision stipulates that, starting from1 May 2019, “the minimum guaranteed quantum of the salary in the real sector (at enterprises, organizations, institutions with financial autonomy, no matter the form of ownership and form of legal organization) is set at 16.42 lei per one hour or 2,775 lei per month, calculated for a full working schedule, with an average of 169 hours per one month.”

When establishing the minimum guaranteed quantum of the salary, decision-makers took into account the annual summary increase of the consumption prices index and a 6.3-per cent rate of growth of the labour productivity nationally.
