Moldovan PM says block ACUM to have joint candidate for elections of Chisinau city hall

Chisinau, 23 July /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister, Maia Sandu, head of Action and Solidarity party (PAS), has said at a news conference held after the meeting of the Government, on Tuesday, 23 July, that block ACUM will have a joint candidate for elections of the Chisinau City Hall (PC).

"As promised earlier, we shall come with a joint candidate in local elections, but we have not taken the final decision and we can not make the announcement who will be the candidate," said Maia Sandu. Asked whether PAS representative Vladimir Bolea could be the candidate of Block, she has said that "Vladimir Bolea was reelected as head of the Chisinau territorial organisation".

President Igor Dodon said earlier in a public television programme that at the general local elections, which is to take place on 20 October, "big battle" for the Chisinau mayor's office would be between the candidates of block ACUM and Socialists' party. "The candidate of the Socialists' party will most likely be Ion Ceban," added Dodon.
