Slow traffic circulation at some border crossing points of Moldova

Chisinau, 27 July /MOLDPRES/ – In summer, at some border crossing points the traffic is slow and the average waiting time is higher due to the increase of the means of transport flow. The warning has been made by the Border Police (PF).

Thus, on the morning of Saturday, 27 July, at 07:00, it is reported heavy traffic at crossing point Mirnoe, the waiting time exceeding 20 min.

Similarly, from 06:30 until 08:00 there was a continuous flow at crossing point Tudora. On the transit route of the Moldovan – Ukrainian crossing points, it was formed a queue of about 40 cars at the entrance to Ukraine.

It is attested an intensive traffic at the joint crossing point Palanca, the average waiting time for crossing the border is 30 min. Under these conditions, all the lanes are used in the direction of exit from Moldova, but also there has been used reverse procedure - there are used control trails from the direction of entry into Moldova. By 09:30, the crossing point activity returned to normality.

Also, it is maintained a heavy traffic of lorries and long vehicles at crossing point Giurgiulesti – Galati, on entrance to Romania. According to info, several columns of vehicles are waiting to enter Romania on the Romanian side, which has led to an inflow of lorries on Moldovan side as well.

During recent 24 hours, at the crossing points, the flow of persons constituted 67,956 crossings, out of which a higher number of crossings – 35,227 was recorded in the exit direction out of Moldova. The most transit points were Leuseni, Chisinau International Airport and Sculeni.

So as to streamline traffic, PF has increased the number of employees involved in control and, as needed, traffic is redirected to free lanes.
