Moldovan physicians on duty at night to get increased salaries

Chisinau, 11 September /MOLDPRES/ – At its meeting, on Wednesday, 11 September, the Cabinet of Ministers has appointed as Secretary of State of the Ministry of Healthcare, Labour and Social Protection (MSMPS), Artiom Sici and Ion Dodon. Also, Victoria Nagy Vajda has been appointed as Secretary of State at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research (MECC), and Veaceslav Ursu has been appointed as Head of the Hancesti Territorial Office of the State Chancellery, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

– Doctors which guard at night will have higher salaries, according to the regulation approved by the Government today. The medical and non – medical staff who, according to the work programme, work at 22:00 and 06:00, will benefit from a supplement for night shift. "In the medical system, it is necessary to increase the salaries, not as it has been done so far, only MDL 100 – MDL 200. Now we have taken the category that is currently facing the most shortage of appropriate medical staff, and the maximum amount that will be offered for a night service is MDL 1000, which will be added to the existing salary package. The overwork is very high, the professional burning in some professions is very high. By this decision we come to make only the first increase," said the Minister of Healthcare, Labour and Social Protection, Ala Nemerenco.

At the same time, the Executive has decided to regulate the conditions and the method of payment of the increase for scientific degree or title and for the honorary title for the employees of the public medical – sanitary institutions.

Also, in order to eliminate the discrimination of the salaries of the specialists in the field of psychiatry and narcology, which provide medical services to similar categories of patients, the Cabinet of Ministers has approved the equivalence of the salaries of employees of medical staff in narcology service with those of the medical staff in psychiatry service.

– Nine participants in military actions to defend the territorial integrity and independence of Moldova and six participants in military actions in Afghanistan will receive a unique state compensation for construction, restoration or purchase of a dwelling. A decision in this regard has been approved by the Cabinet of Ministers today. For it, it will be transferred from the state budget (BS) to the management of authorities of the local public administration (APL) of level 02 – MDL 614,000. In BS for 2019 for this purpose, it is planned an amount of MDL 8.5 mln.  

– Also, the Cabinet of Ministers has given a positive opinion on the draft law for amending the contraventional Code of Moldova. The amendments provide that electoral agitation is prohibited both on election day and on the day before elections.

– At the same time, the Executive has decided to transfer from administration of the Public Property Agency (ASP) of real estate property and hydrotechnical equipment and infrastructures within the centralised irrigation systems in the administration of Agency Apele Moldovei under MADRM, in order to streamline the activity of the state – owned enterprises. Subsequently, the goods and equipment will be used for use by associations of water users for irrigation.

– The Government has approved the lists of students from higher education institutions and pupils from postsecondary technical vocational education institutions who are awarded merit scholarships in school year 2019 – 2020. Twelve students in higher education institutions will receive the Republican Scholarship in the amount of MDL 1,525, and 30 students – Government Scholarship in the amount of MDL 1,270. Also, 20 Gaudeamus Scholarships, in the amount of MDL 920, will be awarded to pupils from technical vocational education institutions. Also, the Cabinet of Ministers has approved the list of students for the awarding of the Scholarship to the President of Moldova for school year 2019 – 2020.

– Also today, the Government has positively endorsed the project to supplement the Parliament decision on commemorative days, holidays and rest days in Moldova. Thus, on 16 October, it will be marked the National Day of Food. The project aims to raise public awareness of global food issues and support solidarity in the fight against hunger, malnutrition and poverty. Over 150 states mark World Food Day, declared by the UN General Assembly on 16 October.
