Chisinau, 4 October /MOLDPRES/ - Law-enforcers will ensure the public order on the National Wine Day, due to be organized in the centre of Moldova’s capital on 5 and 6 October.

The head of the operational management department of the National Patrol Inspectorate, Iurii Dementiev, told a today’s news conference that the police and other Interior Ministry’s (MAI) subdivisions would be on duty to ensure the public order and security, so that the holiday is held without incidents. The official did not specify, however, how many policemen would be on duty on the Wine Day. “Sufficient MAI forces will get involved, in order to cope with all situations emerging during the carrying out of the holiday. I cannot inform you if certain filters would be set,” Dementiev noted.

The movement of transport will be ceased on the Stefan cel Mare blvd, between the Alexandru Pushkin and Gavriil Banulescu-Bodoni Streets. In these conditions, the police urged the capital’s residents to give up their private cars and move, as far as possible, by public transport, in order not to make the traffic more difficult. At the same time, the citizens coming to the wine holiday from other Moldovan settlements are urged to park their transport units in specially arranged places on adjacent streets from the centre of Chisinau.

The police recommended that the participants in the event avoid the excessive consumption of alcohol, not to drive after consuming alcoholic beverages, be cautious in traffic and have a proper behavior. If needed, citizens can call the 122 Service or can appeal to law-enforcers on duty in the centre of the capital.

A record number of wineries will participate in the 28th issue of the National Wine Day, due in the centre of Chisinau in the next weekend. Thus, according to the organizers, 68 native producers will display their wines at the holiday.
