Moldova to host meeting of speakers from NB8 countries

Chisinau, 9 October /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Zinaida Greceanîi today met Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Lithuania to Moldova Kęstutis Kudzmanas, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

The discussions focused on the current situation and prospects of Moldovan-Lithuanian cooperation, including opportunities for further boosting interparliamentary and economic cooperation.

Greceanii thanked for supporting Moldova, and noted the productive activity of the Lithuanian diplomatic mission contributing to strengthening the good relations between our countries and people.

The sides also approached details on of the meeting of speakers from the NB8 countries, due in December.

Zinaida Greceanii pointed out that it is a great honor and responsibility for our country to host such an important meeting.

At the same time, the speaker voiced confidence that the NB8 speakers' meeting will become a successful platform for promoting Moldova abroad, demonstrating the economic potential and drawing investments.

North-Baltic 8 (NB8) is a regional cooperation format, comprising eight states: Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norway and Sweden. Regional and international topical issues are included in the forum's competences. This year, the Republic of Moldova was chosen for the first time as the host country of the NB8 speakers’ forum.
