In just few days, police officers detect nearly five thousand traffic violations in Moldova

Chisinau, 12 October /MOLDPRES/ – In just a few days, on 04 – 10 October, the traffic patrol inspectors documented 4,761 violations of the traffic regulation. Also, there took place 46 serious road accidents in Moldova, resulting into 08 dead and 66 traumatised ones.

Almost half of the drivers caught, exceeded the speed limit. According to the National Patrol Inspectorate (INP), 124 drunk drivers were removed from the steering – wheel of the vehicles. Most of them were in a state of advanced intoxication.

The last case took place on 11 October in Chisinau, at about 11:10. The inspectors noticed a Toyota car that was moving irregularly. The driver of the vehicle was stopped and taken to the narcological dispensary (DN). The alcohol test showed an alcohol concentration in the exhaled air of 1.27 mg/l. The 38 – year – old man did not have the driving licence.

A few days ago, the National council for traffic safety (CNSC) proposed to tighten the penalties for exceeding the speed limit and driving the car in a drunken state. Similarly, those which will be caught driving drunk might be left out of cars. The proposals were made after in the last period, in Moldova there were several road accidents, resulting in deaths and more traumatised ones.
