Over 400 companies from 20 countries participate in autumn agro-industrial week in Moldova

Chisinau, 16 October /MOLDPRES/ - Over 400 companies from 20 countries on 16-19 October participate in the agro-industrial week at the Moldexpo international exhibition centre. The agro-industrial week contains the MOLDAGROTECH (autumn) international specialized exhibition of machines, equipment and technologies and the FARMER international specialized exhibition and fair of agricultural products, equipments and trades.  

„The task of these big and important exhibitions for the agricultural sector of Moldova is to provide the most modern equipments and technologies, which would contribute to enhancing the efficiency and increasing the profits in agriculture. We are set to increase the consumption of native products and for this, we need to back and encourage the producers of Moldova, including through such exhibitions, which would allow them developing the agricultural businesses,” Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Minister Georgeta Mincu said at the beginning of the event.

The official noted that the agro-industrial week at Moldexpo had “a mutual advantage, both for the participants and visitors, and for the competent ministry, which is set to provide to agricultural producers and farmers every needed support for development and promotion.”  

The most extended segment of the exhibition is completed with agricultural machines and equipments. Tractors, machines for tilling the soil, sowers, equipments for fertilization and protection of plants, equipments for harvesting, preparing fodder, post-harvesting equipments, etc. are presented here. “It is about new technology, as well as machines which have already proved their efficiency at more specialized enterprises from abroad. Certainly, it is about serious investments; yet, agriculture must also become an important business, or a serious business cannot be developed without investments,” representatives of more companies participating in the exhibition said.

At the exhibitions, a contest titled, The Novelty of the Year, will take place, for which 26 companies have registered and the Grand Prize will be provided for special contribution to the modernization of the agro-industrial complex of Moldova. The event’s agenda includes also a contest, Farmer-leader, Agro-generation Young People’s Day, agricultural training roundtables and seminars.     

Besides the aforementioned exhibitions, till the next week-end, the Moldexpo Centre will also host the exhibitions Animal Show and Golden Autumn.  

This year, MOLDAGROTECH (autumn) reached its 37th issue and FARMER – the 22nd issue. The actions are organized at the Moldexpo International Exhibition Centre, with the official support of the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry, National Farmers’ Federation of Moldova.
