Chisinau, 29 October /MOLDPRES/ – On 03 November 2019, within IInd round of the general local elections (ALG), it will be organised an opinion poll in the exit polls (exit – poll type) in 67 polling stations (SV) in Chisinau municipality. A decision on it has been adopted on Tuesday, 29 October, with the vote of 06 out of 09 members of the Central Election Commission (CEC).

According to the CEC's decision, the sociological research will only target the polling stations in Chisinau and its outskirts, and the results will not be made public before closing of SV.

There will be involved 164 interviewers within exit poll, and the collected data will be considered as sociological data.

The head of CEC, Dorin Cimil, has spoken out against the survey because the company that requested the exit poll has not submit all necessary info and it has not provided the security that this survey allows and has the necessary logistics. "I am not ready to support this draft decision because the documents of the company that requested this survey did not convince me that it has sufficient resources, not everything is transparent and we do not have all needed info," said Cimil.

The recent exit poll was conducted in Moldova in May 2011. The research that will be carried out on 03 November is requested and paid by a private company in Chisinau.

Also today, the members of CEC have received the reports of authorities in charge for the safe organisation of IInd round of local elections and announced that the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) have already taken over the process of printing the ballots but also SV.
