Chisinau, 7 November /MOLDPRES/- The draft law amending the Law on Prosecutor's Office, on which the Government assumed responsibility, was published in the Official Journal of Moldova today.

The document approved at the yesterday’s cabinet meeting sees that the prime minister will pre-select at least two candidates for the position of the Prosecutor General and submit the list to the Superior Council of Prosecutors. Subsequently, the CSP will elect one of those forwarded by the Prime Minister and will propose the candidate for the position of Prosecutor General to the President of the country.

Under the Constitution, the government can assume responsibility before the parliament on a program, a general policy statement or a draft law. If a censure motion is not submitted within 3 days, the program, the general policy statement or the draft law shall be considered adopted.
