Chisinau, 11 November /MOLDPRES/- The motion of censure against the government was debated on 11 November at the legal committee on rules and immunities. The committee meeting was boycotted by MPs of ACUM bloc.
The motion was debated by members of PSRM and PDM of the commission, who gave an advisory opinion to the document.
Socialist MP Vasile Bolea said that all the procedures indicated in the Regulation and Constitution were followed.
ACUM bloc lawmakers boycotted the committee meeting as parliament’s regulation does not provide for the need to adopt a notice to debate the censure motion.
On 8 November the PSRM faction filed a motion of censure against the government led by Maia Sandu. The Socialists were dissatisfied that the government changed the rules for appointing the prosecutor general by assuming responsibility without consulting them. They asked Prime Minister Maia Sandu to withdraw the draft.
So far, the premier and leadership of ACUM bloc have not come up with an official position on the created political situation. Neither PDM MPs have announced whether or not they will support the motion submitted by PSRM.
