In centre of Chisinau starts installation of main Christmas tree of Moldova

Chisinau, 25 November /MOLDPRES/ – In the centre of Chisinau has started, on Monday, 25 November, the installation of the country's main Christmas tree.

This year, the inhabitants and guests of the capital will be able to admire in the Great National Assembly Square (PMAN) the same artificial fir purchased by the municipality in 2018. Also, it will be installed holiday lighting on the main streets of the capital.

Interviewed by agency, the representatives of the Chisinau City Hall have stated that it is not yet known when the Christmas tree will be inaugurated, but, most likely, it will be traditionally organised at the beginning of December.

In 2019 – 2020, it will be organised fairs dedicated to winter holidays in the sectors of Chisinau. "In the context of winter holidays, please all heads of sectors to arrange areas in sectors, not only in the centre of Chisinau, where people can come to a fir tree, to a small fair, for children's entertainment, so as not to move every night in the centre of the capital ”, declared the general mayor of Chisinau municipality, Ion Ceban, at the weekly meeting of the city hall services. "We shall no longer walk with two trees. It will be alright,” said Ceban.

In 2018, for the first time, the authorities of the capital opted for the installation of an artificial fir in PMAN. It is 20 metres high and was donated by an economic agent.
