Moldovan artists participate in closing concert of Commonwealth of Independent States' Delphic Games

Chisinau, 26 November /MOLDPRES/ - The 14th issue of the Youth Delphic Games of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) ended with a festive concert in Moscow on 25 November evening, in which also artists from Moldova participated.

Contacted by MOLDPRES, the head of the National Delphic Committee, secretary general of the Moldova’s National Commission for UNESCO, composer Constantin Rusnac has said that the show took place in one of the most prestigious halls of modern Moscow – Vegas City Hall. The Strămoșeasca band of folk dances – a laureate of the 14th issue of Youth Delphic Games - performed on stage with the dance Hora ca la sud (Round dance as in the south region). At the same time, a soprano, laureate of the Youth Delphic Games, 14th edition Ksenia Kazachevskaya performed with the sentimental song, Aștept de la tine (Waiting from you). She was accompanied by the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Aleksey Chuykov, with Constantin Rusnac playing the piano.       

The festivity ended with the Delphic Games’ Anthem, composed by Constantin Rusnac, lyrics by Ludmila Sobietsky, translated into Russian by Alexandra Iunco.  

”Our artists had a great success. They proved once again that the golden, silver and bronze medals, which they got at the Delphic Games, were well-deserved,” Constantin Rusnac stressed.   

Over 400 artists from the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, aged between 10 and 25 years, participated in the 14th issue of the CIS Delphic Games.  

According to the executive director of the National Paradelphic Committee of Russia Vladimir Ponyavin, the contests took place at six nominations: piano, violin, academic canto, folk and light music, as well as in a written event for diverse arts (dance, instrumental singing, dramatic reading, etc.)  

The Delphic Games appeared in Greece in the 582 year BC. Along with the Olympic Games, the Delphic Games (earlier called Pythian) were banned more than 1,600 years ago and were revived as late as in the beginning of the 20th century: the Delphic Festival was held in Greece beginning with 1927 till 1930, which became an analogous thing to the ancient Pythian Games. During the World War II, the superior forum of arts was ceased. The new age of the Delphic Games, which turned into a phenomenon at the world level, started as late as in 2000, when the first World Delphic Games were organized by the National Paradelphic Committee of Russia, with the participation of 27 countries, in Moscow. As many as 938 artists took part in the event and the jury was made up of representatives of 13 countries.    

The 14th issue of the CIS Youth Delphic Games took place in the Moscow region on 22-26 November.
