Moldova's National Patrol Inspectorate launches Bus operation

Chisinau, 2 December /MOLDPRES/ - The National Patrol Inspectorate (INP) today launched the Bus operation. The operation will last till 15 December; on this period, inspectors will check the conditions in which passengers are carried in buses and mini-buses, the technical state of the transport means and how drivers are observing the road traffic rules.
On these days, employees of the National Patrol Inspectorate along with the ones of the National Motor Transport Agency will carry out actions of counteracting the illicit transportation of passengers and will verify the conditions of embarking of passengers outside stations. At the same time, inspectors will try to find out cases when the number of passengers carried exceeds the one of the places provided by the transport means. Decision-makers will verify whether the technical norms are observed at the exploitation of the vehicles during winter conditions. The buses carrying children will be checked too.
According to INP, the operation will be carried out throughout Moldova, in order to diminish the number of accidents with the involvement of public transport.
Statistics data shows that 205 traffic accidents have taken place since with the involvement of the transport of passengers since early 2019, in the wake of which 15 people died and 286 were seriously injured.
