Moldovan PM has meeting with ambassador of United Kingdom

Chisinau, 3 December /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today met Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Moldova Steven Fisher.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the dialogue was focused on exchange of opinions concerning the current stage and the prospects of the bilateral relations. At the meeting, the PM referred to the cabinet’s agenda, among which: the justice reform, fighting corruption, modernization of the national economy, improvement of the social well-being, stability of the financial and banking system, press freedom.
Prime Minister Ion Chicu thanked the British state for backing Moldova in pressing ahead with the democratic, economic and social transformations. “We took the commitment to boost the reforms meant to modernize the country, in order to provide a decent living to the citizens and we rely on your support to this end,” the prime minister noted.
For his part, Ambassador Steven Fisher positively appreciated the evolution of the Moldovan-British ties, highlighting the government’s intention to develop the democracy and reintegrate the country. “We want a good dialogue between our countries and we believe that Moldova is a reliable partner. The Great Britain will continue providing your country every support you need,” the diplomat stressed.
