Moldovan PM to attend summit of GUAM heads of government

Chisinau, 9 December /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Ion Chicu announced today that he will be attending this week's summit of GUAM heads of government in Kiev, Ukraine.

The statement was made by the prime minister after the working meeting with President Igor Dodon and Speaker Zinaida Graceanii. He noted that a bilateral meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, Oleksiy Honcharuk, is expected in Kiev.

Next week, the prime minister will also visit Strasbourg, the Council of Europe, where he will discuss justice reform and respect for human rights.

He said that the next cabinet meeting will focus on the Istanbul Convention (Council of Europe Convention on the Prevention and Combating of Violence against Women and Domestic Violence), after which it will be submitted for ratification to Parliament. He added that in the coming days he will have a meeting with all district heads to set up an efficient cooperation mechanism between central and local authorities.

Among the priorities set by the prime minister for the following period was the opening of a state institution meant to support volunteers.
