Company with Austrian capital to increase its investments in Moldova up to 50 million dollars

Chisinau, 10 December /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon today had a meeting with representatives of a company with Austrian capital Gebauer & Griller (GG Cables & Wires EE), which carries out its work at the Balti-based Free Economic Zone (FEZ). Attending the meeting was the chief manager of Balti FEZ, Marin Ciobanu, the presidential press service has reported.
The company GG Cables & Wires EE is an important producer of cables, wires and cable harness for the automotive industry, lifts and rolling stairs, as well as for special industrial applications. The company has plants in Austria, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Moldova, USA and other countries. In Moldova, GG Cables & Wires has already invested more than 40 million dollars, allocated both for the construction works and the advanced equipment.
The guests informed Igor Dodon about a recent decision by the company to extend its production on another 5,000 square metres, after which the overall sum of the investment will exceed 50 million dollars, providing over 650 new jobs in the northern region of Moldova, with an average salary of more than 10,000 lei.
The head of state welcomed the company’s decision. He gave assurances that the Presidential Administration, in close coordination with the Moldovan government, would further make needed efforts to attract foreign direct investments, as well as to back native entrepreneurs.
