Over 3,000 policemen ensure public order during winter holidays in Moldova

Chisinau, 27 December /MOLDPRES/ – Over 3,000 policemen and carabineri will ensure public order during the winter holidays. The announcement has been made, on Friday, by representatives of the General Police Inspectorate (IGP).

According to the head of IGP Community Police Unit (SPC), Daniel Mazepa, the policemen will be on duty both during the night between the years and during the old – style holidays. He has specified that police officers will also be present on the main national arteries, at risk points of committing road accidents and during heavy traffic hours.

At his turn, head of service InfoTrafic of the National Patrol Inspectorate (INP), Pavel Apostol, have come with recommendations for drivers which urged them to respect the traffic rules and not to leave their cars parked irregularly.

Also, the two police officers have cautioned the citizens to be careful when they leave their homes, because it is greatly increased the number of thefts during this period.

At the end of press conference, heads of police have handed out the wooden Christmas trees to the passers – by as well as to drivers.

According to statistical data, in previous years, during winter holidays, there were registered over 1,000 notifications on different illegalities.
