Benefits of Northern Region presented at international business forum

Chisinau, 3 February /MOLDPRES/- The competitive advantages and development prospects of the Northern Region of Moldova were presented at an International Business Forum Moldova 2020 - training future international business cooperation, held on 29 January - 2 February within Made in Moldova exhibition at the Moldexpo exhibition centre.

According to Maria Prisacari, head of department at the Regional Development Agency (ADR) North, the northern area of the country has great potential. "There are a number of competitive advantages that can boost investment in the region, and ADR North plays an important role in this process. Thus, among the advantages of the region are: strategic location as a regional link between Romania in the west and Ukraine in the north and east; one of the biggest commercial traffic hubs in the Republic of Moldova, connected to the main international and national communication channels; the region has a great potential of natural resources (fertile soils with the highest quality); raw materials for the processing industry; institutions of higher education, specialized and vocational etc. ”, Prsisacari said.

Luisa Prista, Head of Department at the Executive Agency for Small and Medium Enterprises of the European Commission, spoke about the EU projects meant to support the business environment and urged the local entrepreneurs to participate.

The International Business Forum Moldova 2020 was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova, in partnership with the European Union project, Enterprise Europe Network, in order to encourage investment and commercial cooperation between Moldovan entrepreneurs and business community abroad.

Attending the event were over 250 economic agents from Moldova and from abroad, representing various sectors such as: agriculture, agri-food industry, information and communication technologies, textiles, construction sector, renewable energy, automotive sector, creative industries, etc.  The forum is in its third edition, and similar meetings have been held in Balti and Cahul.
