Chisinau, 19 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Education, Culture and Research Ministry (MECC) today approved a regulation on the organization of the vocational education on the period of suspension of the education process. The document establishes the normative and methodological framework on organizing the professional training in the vocational education institutions, on the period when the access to the institutions is restricted, as a result of the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

Under the regulation, the education institutions will identify ways of online teaching, learning and evaluation, in order to ensure the continuity of the education process. To carry out the teaching process online, classes with simultaneous teaching can be created – joint groups, with the education process held in accordance with the study finalities provided for at the course unit (the concerned discipline/module).

The disciplines/modules can be carried out through the following education forms: online course, webinar, teleconference, online testing, individual work, self-assessment at computer, etc., held within a virtual environment of studying.

As for the programme on vocational training through dual education, the vocational education institutions, in partnership with economic agents, can re-allocate the distribution of theoretical and practical classes, based on joint solutions through the change or completion of the cooperation agreement, in line with the provisions of this regulation.

The evaluation of the fulfillment of the tasks by the pupils will be made by titular teachers based on the digital portfolio/online project.

MECC encourages teachers from the vocational education to identify interactive online ways which would ensure a relevant education process for the pupils from the vocational education institutions.

The pre-school children, pupils and students from Moldova have been in quarantine regime since 11 March. On 18 March, Moldova’s Commission for Emergency Situations ruled that the education process at the general, vocational and university education institutions remained suspended till 31 March 2020, with the subsequent revision of the concerned term, depending on the epidemiological situation in Moldova.
