Chisinau city hall provides 4 million lei to health institutions in capital

Chisinau, 25 March /MOLDPRES/- The authorities of the local public administration in the capital have decided to allocate additional four million lei to enhance preventive measures and prevent the spread of infection by a new type coronavirus in Chisinau.

The decision on review of financial sources allocated to this effect was approved on 24 March 24 by the Reserve Fund Commission.

The financial sources will be earmarked to municipal subdivisions and medical institutions to purchase protective equipment (masks, gloves, thermometers, disinfectants, glasses, special equipment used to disinfect rooms and other locations, etc.). Thus, the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Health will receive 500 thousand lei; Municipal Clinical Hospital Sfântul Arhanghel Mihail - 500 thousand lei; Sfânta Treime Municipal Clinical Hospital - 500 thousand lei; Municipal Clinical Hospital No4 – 500,000 lei, Municipal Clinical Hospital No1- 500,000 lei, Children's Clinical Hospital Valentin Ignatenco - 1 million lei, and to ensure the transport of about 900 doctors to 12 medical institutions 500 thousand lei will be allocated.

Chisinau city hall has contracted the services of private carriers. Thus, starting from Wednesday, for 10 days, 30 minibuses will transport the medical workers to the medical institutions in the capital.

At the same time, the Reserve Fund Commission decided that the administrations of the medical institutions should prioritize their needs, and the money provided for the current repairs, should be transferred to equipping hospitals with necessary equipment.

Previously, to enhance infection control measures by COVID-19, two million lei were allocated from the capital reserve to the municipal subdivisions and medical institutions.
