Moldovan finance ministry to earmark over 36 million lei to buy protection equipment

Chisinau, 25 March /MOLDPRES/ - The government, at a today’s meeting, ruled to allocate over 36 million lei for the purchasing of the protection equipment, in the context of the measures for the prevention and combating of the new-type coronavirus COVID-19.

According to Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister Serghei Puscuta, 200,000 protection screens and 500,000 respirators will be bought with this money.

„The contract on public acquisition will be ascribed by the Centre for Centralized Public Procurements in Health, in line with the point 23 from the Instruction No 3 from 23 March 2020 of the Commission for Emergency Situations,’’ Serghei Puscuta said.

For his part, PM Ion Chicu asked the Finance Ministry to supplement the government’s Intervention and Reserve Funds with more than 100 million lei, in the context of the rectification of the 2020 State Budget Law.
