Victory March transferred from 9 May for 24 August in Moldova

Chisinau, 15 April /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon today summoned a working meeting on the organization and carrying out of the events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.  

According to the presidential press service, the participants in the meeting ruled on the carrying out of more earlier established actions. It is about the restoration and arrangement of the memorial complexes, sanitation of military cemeteries, visiting and congratulating the veterans at home, laying wreaths of flowers by the Moldovan top leadership on 9 May.   

At the same time, proceeding from the crisis situation we are facing and the restrictions imposed by the authorities as regards the mass manifestations, the participants in the meeting were unanimous in the opinion that the mass events, such as the Victory March – Immortal Regiment and the festive concert dedicated to the Victory Day, should be transferred for 24 August – the day of Moldova’s liberation from the fascist occupation.
