Moldovan president has meeting with Socialist MP

Chisinau, 6 June /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon on 5 June had a meeting with PhD in medical sciences, university professor, MP Stefan Gatcan, in the context of the Medical Employee Year, the presidential press service has reported.

The officials referred to the epidemiological situation, problems in the field of mother’s and child’s health and the need to modernize the Moldovan perinatal centres, reforms carried out in the medicine sector, etc.

At the same time, the sides discussed more draft laws due to be promoted in parliament and which regard the protection of the professional activity in the medical sector.

The lawmaker appreciated the actions undertaken by the current governance to increase investments in the development of the medical system and back the medical staff through increasing their salaries.

The interlocutors were unanimous in the opinion that this sector was of foremost importance for the public health and all possible measures must be taken to support it.

It is worth mentioning that the 2020 year was decreed as Medical Employee Year and an action plan on its carrying out is to be worked out till 10 June.
