Chisinau, 1 July /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic today had a working meeting with Head of the OSCE Mission in Moldova Claus Neukirch, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.

The officials discussed the most recent developments in the process of negotiations for the Transnistrian settlement and, not in the least, the spectrum of pressing problems faced by the residents from both banks of Dniester. The sides also exchanged opinions on a recent visit to Moldova by Special Representative of the OSCE Chairmanship-in-Office Thomas Mayr-Harting.

Deputy Prime Minister Lesnic expressed concern about the situation in the Security Zone, following the setting and maintaining of illegal posts by Tiraspol’s representatives. She reiterated Chisinau’s constant position on the need to unconditionally and immediately evacuate them and unconditionally ensure the observance of the human rights all over Moldova, including the right to free movement. The situation of the settlements from the Dubasari district is of special sensitiveness and was tackled separately.

Also, the officials discussed problems of the companies from the right bank of Dniester, which have employees residents from the Transnistrian region, who cannot go to work because of the restrictions maintained by the Transnistrian structures, as well as aspects on the functionality of the points of vehicles’ registration from the Tiraspol and Rabnita cities, as well as other relevant elements.

According to Lesnic, the avoiding of any unilateral actions is the only sustainable and viable option, which meets the aspirations of all sides involved in the negotiating process.

In the context, the sides reiterated the demand on the assistance of the OSCE Mission for the monitoring, fixing, investigation and immediate reporting of the incidents in the Security Zone.

The two officials agreed on continuing the interaction, to consider the evolution of the situation in the Security Zone, as well as to fully contribute to the maintaining of an atmosphere of normality and which is to ensure the free movement between the two banks of Dniester.
