Turkey donates consignment of medical equipment, computers to Moldova

Chisinau, 26 August /MOLDPRES/- A batch of humanitarian aid, including medical equipment and computers was delivered today in Moldova during a visit by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

The Turkish official made the statement at a briefing jointly held with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova Oleg Țulea. The two officials noted they approached issues on political dialogue, economic and investment relations and cooperation in consular affairs.

The Moldovan official said that Turkey is the 7th trading partner of our country, and an important investment partner. He thanked the Turkish government for support and said that over the past years our country has received assistance worth over 400 thousand dollars.

The Turkish official said that the trade between our countries increased by 24 percent in 2019, but this year, due to the pandemic there was a decrease.

Also, the Turkish minister will hold a meeting with President Igor Dodon and Prime Minister Ion Chicu, and tomorrow he will visit Comrat for inauguration of the Consulate General of Turkey in this locality.
