Moldovan president to run for second term as president

Chisinau, 9 September /MOLDPRES/- The Republic of Moldova must be led by a patriotic and responsible leader who respects national values and Moldovan traditions. President Igor Dodon made the statement today.

"I decided to run for the second term as president, because I was convinced of the support of the citizens and their desire to continue my work and to carry out my political agenda to the end, to achieve all economic and social goals," he said.

He noted that the years he was president were difficult because he had to deal with an oligarchic regime, the COVID-19 pandemic, drought and more. He was convinced that he had managed to maintain the economy and honor all payments to pensioners and state employees, including helping farmers and business community.

"In times of crisis, the country needs stability, to continue to make good, we must pay attention to those irresponsible politicians, who are launching this campaign and who are under the tutelage of other states, dual citizenship. Moldova needs a responsible leader with character. I wish success to all competitors ", he said.
