Moldova Fruct association participates in specialized exhibition in Moscow

Chisinau, 22 September /MOLDPRES/ - Producers and exporters of fruits members of the Moldova Fruct Association of Fruits Producers and Exporters on 22-25 September take part in one of the biggest specialized exhibition in the area of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) – WorldFood Moscow, held in Russia’s capital.   

The participation in this event is organized at an initiative by Moldova Fruct, in partnership with the Investments Agency. ‘’This is a new participation of the Association, under the brand, Moldova – a Special Taste, in this exhibition. This year, organizers had to take into account the pandemic and the interest in participating was directly hit by the movement restrictions imposed by more countries. Nevertheless, the WorldFood Moscow exhibition is the only far-reaching event from our region, which has not been cancelled and is held traditionally,’’ the executive director of Moldova Fruct, Iurie Fala, said.  

In 2020, Moldova Fruct is present in Moscow with a new visual identity, approved in the beginning of this year, and a modern stand. Ten companies, members of the Association will propose to potential buyers fresh fruits: apples, plums, table grapes, as well as tinned fruits and vegetables – Moldovan products which are traditionally commercialized on the CIS market.   

„Although the marked has been diversified for some fruits in the last years, as for apples, the Russian market remains the basic one. In this season, taking into account the effects of the drought, we hope that we can export 170,000-220,000 tons of apples, 30,000-35,000 tons of plums and in case of a good harvest – 40,000 tons of table grapes,’’ Iurie Fala.

WorldFood Moscow is traditionally visited by representatives of all trade networks from Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus – traditional markets for Moldovan fruits. The exhibition represents a platform of communication for exporters and importers, a possibility to analyze and get acquainted with the market’s requirements and tendencies, is the place where partners with experience of cooperation meet, new contacts are established. More than 20,000 visitors registered for the 2020 issue of WorldFood Moscow.  

The Moldova Fruct Association of Fruits Producers and Exporters represents 180 modern enterprises working in the agricultural sector: producers, processors, exporters of fruits, as well as services providers. An essential goal of the organization is to diversify the markets for high-quality fruits from Moldova: apples, plums, sweet cherries, apricots, table grapes, processed goods.
