Moldovan PM says government fulfills commitment towards veterans by setting up bureau for relations with veterans

Chisinau, 23 September /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today summoned a meeting, in order to discuss the work of the newly created bureau for relations with veterans, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The participants in the event discussed the tasks due to be fulfilled by this structure of the State Chancellery, the Bureau’s mission and basic duties. Following a contest, in which more representatives of veterans, as well as specialists in the social protection sector participated, three out of those five civil servants of the bureau for relations with veterans were employed, including the Bureau’s head, veteran Nicolae Girbu.

The PM asked the Bureau’s employees to quickly work out the activity plan, so that the support expected by the veterans on behalf of this governmental structure is provided as quickly and efficiently as possible. The prime minister proposed to organize, in the next two weeks, a meeting of the National Council of Veterans (CNV), so that Bureau is able to present information on the actions carried out and its activity plans, as well as to synchronize its actions with the requests and expectations of the veterans’ associations, which they communicate within CNV. The PM clearly asked the Bureau’s employees to carry out their activity in strict accordance with the subdivision’s regulation, without political involvement.     

The State Chancellery’s leadership informed about the way of decisions of the action plan for the next four months and some actions are to be given final touches for 2021.

Nicolae Girbu referred to the need to monitor the legislative framework, which is to enhance the trust in the state’s actions. ‘’We are set to ensure the veterans’ access to the facilities and services already provided by the state, as well as to come up with new proposals meant to ease the veterans’ life. We will also ensure a dialogue with all veterans’ organizations, with the central and local public authorities (APC and APL), in order to quickly identify the cases which are to be settled,’’ the head of the bureau for relations with veterans said.   

The Bureau is meant to ensure an efficient communication between the veterans’ public organizations and the government, in order to settle the problems they are facing. Three persons work at the structure and another two ones are to be selected at a contest organized by the State Chancellery.
