Moldova to participate in Expo Dubai 2020 exhibition, postponed for one year

Chisinau, 7 October /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova will participate in the Expo Dubai 2020 World Exhibition, due to be staged in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on the period 1 October 2021 – 31 March 2022. The cabinet of ministers approved a decision to this effect at a today’s meeting.    

The document amended an earlier decision, which provides for the country’s participation in this event on 20 October 2020 – 10 April 2021. The term was changed because of the pandemic triggered by COVID-19.     

The Moldexpo International Exhibitions Centre was nominated as national authority in charge of Moldova’s taking part in Expo Dubai 2020.   

According to the government, the participation in this event represents for Moldova an opportunity of making itself conspicuous in the world, of promoting national values and boosting the commercial and economic, scientific, technological and cultural exchanges.

Estimations by the organizers show that Expo Dubai 2020, with the official title, Connecting Minds, Creating the Future, will be visited by about 25 million people, of whom 70 per cent – visitors from outside the host country.  

Moldova also participated in similar exhibitions at the international level, such as: World Expo Hannover -2000 (Germany), Expo Shanghai 2010 (China), World Expo Milano 2015 (Italy).
