Classified list of palliative care services to be created in Moldova

Chisinau, 20 November /MOLDPRES/ - The palliative services will be included in the list of basic services of the national healthcare system. The parliament adopted a draft on amendment of the Law on healthcare today.

The document includes, for the first time ever, the palliative services among the basic services provided in Moldova’s health system, just as the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends. Thus, the draft proposes establishing a distinct sub-programme for palliative care within the programme of expenses of the mandatory health insurances accounts.

At the same time, the draft suggests approval by the government of a classified list of palliative cares’ services, a regulation on organization and work of the palliative cares’ services.
