Military pension can be received abroad too

Chisinau, 26 November /MOLDPRES/- Constitutional Court judges decided today that Moldovan military pensioners can receive the pension regardless of their domicile. Thus, the military pension will be able to be received even if the former soldiers have established their residence abroad.

The Constitutional Court declared as unconstitutional the provisions that restrict the right to pension of military personnel who go abroad for permanent residence. The decision of the constitutional judges comes as a result of the notification of ombudsman Mihai Cotorobai who described the provisions as differentiated treatment.

The ombudsman institution considers that the way in which citizens exercise their right to receive pensions based on work and certain legislation should not impede the exercise of other rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution, in particular the right of everyone to choose their place of residence and leave the state.
