Moldovan diplomacy head has phone conversation with Hungarian counterpart

Chisinau, 26 November /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Aureliu Ciocoi today had a phone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary cu Péter Szijjártó, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.  

The ministers highlighted the privileged character of the Moldovan-Hungarian relations, reflected through multiple initiatives held bilaterally, as well as through joint interests which get closer the positions of both sides on a string of subjects of regional and international character.  

The two diplomats noted the common commitment to strengthen the Moldovan-Hungarian strategic partnership. They also reconfirmed the wish to deepen and extend the political, diplomatic, commercial, economic and sectoral dialogue, having at the basis the agreements earlier established during the visit to Chisinau and Budapest by the two diplomacy heads this year.

During the discussion, Péter Szijjártó reiterated Hungary’s support for Moldova’s European agenda, including the backing of the initiatives within the Eastern Partnership and consistent support of the Moldovan authorities in the fight with the COVID-19 pandemic.  

For his part, Aureliu Ciocoi thanked the Budapest authorities for the support provided to Moldova in the European integration process, as well as in the promotion and implementation of the goals of the country’s modernization. The Moldovan minister made an invitation to the Hungarian official to pay a visit to Moldova and the invitation was accepted.
