Investment in rural development to continue in 2021 - Moldovan PM says

Chisinau, 27 November /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Ion Chicu had a meeting today with head of Taraclia district Ivan Pîslari and discussed the socio-economic situation in the district and the priorities of local public authorities in the context of budgetary and fiscal policy for 2021, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

The premier reiterated that the government will continue massive investments in infrastructure next year. "We are at the stage of finalizing the draft budget for 2021. We will continue the implementation of the Good Roads project, for which 900 million lei are provided," he said.

In this context, he was informed about the implementation of the Good Roads project in Taraclia district, which registers deviations from the terms of the contracts. Chicu requested that all necessary measures be taken to avoid arrears. The project provides for the rehabilitation of several road sections in 21 localities. To this end, about 16.5 million lei has been allocated from the state budget.

The premier was informed that the epidemiological situation in the district is stable, the number of infected people has exceeded 1000, and 80% of residents have recovered.

Pislari appreciated the cooperation with the central public authorities and noted that dozens of infrastructure projects were implemented with the support of the government and external partners.

They also tackled the implementation of the project Solid waste in Moldova, which provides for the development of waste management infrastructure in several districts of the country, including Taraclia.
