Moldova might receive 3.48 million dollars on behalf of World Bank to limit effects of COVID-19 pandemic

Chisinau, 2 December /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova will benefit from a grant worth 3.48 million dollars on behalf of the World Bank for limiting the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The parliament’s commission for foreign policy and European integration today approved the starting of negotiations on the Agreement on Grant between Moldova and the International Development Association (IDA) for the additional financing for the Emergency Response to COVID-19 project.

Under the document, the money will be used for the prevention, detection and response to the threat represented by the COVID-19 in Moldova. The additional financing will be provided from the fund of the financing mechanism in pandemic situations, in order to back the enhancement of the capacity of testing and laboratory, buy additional mobile systems X-ray diagnosis systems, carry out training courses for medical employees, in accordance with Moldova’s strategic preparation and response plan.    

The agreement on grant will be implemented till 31 January 2021.
