Joint Control Commission focused on appearance of new illegal post in Security Zone

17:00 | 03.12.2020 Category: Official

Chisinau, 3 December /MOLDPRES/ - The members of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) today returned to Bender, in order to consider, in line with the mandate given, up-to-date issues on the situation in the Security Zone, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.

During the last nine weeks, the works of the Joint Control Commission have been blocked by the Transnistrian side’s refusal to accept on the discussions’ official agenda the discussions on subjects concerning the presence of illegal posts and cases of kidnapping citizens by the so-called mgb (state security ministry) of the region.

Meanwhile, the Transnistrian structures continue to defy the basic acts of the peacekeeping operation, which ban the free movement and the introduction of the formations which are not part of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces, strengthening the infrastructure of the control posts which they try to present as ‘’sanitary’’.

Moreover, on 30 November 2020, Tiraspol set such an illegal mobile post at the entrance in Dubasari just nearby the post No 8 (left) of the Peacekeeping Forces. The regular demand by the senior military head on behalf of Moldova of the Joint Military Command to send on the spot the group of military observers for documenting the infringement committed was turned down. Thus, the infringement was not reflected in the weekly report on the Security Zone. As a result, the report was not signed by the Moldovan side and the representative of Ukraine and the subject on the appearance of the new illegal post was got in the focus of JCC.

The hot discussions held afterwards did not contribute to the approval of the agenda, and for this reason the meeting was postponed again.
