Moldovan capital's residents whose apartments are endowed with electric ranges to receive compensations

Chisinau, 22 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), at a today’s meeting, voted for compensations worth 100 lei per month for the capital’s residents whose apartments are endowed with electric ranges.    

Starting from January 2021, the Chisinau residents whose flats are endowed with electric ranges will benefit from compensations worth 100 lei/month per one apartment for the electric energy consumed. The decision regards only the apartments endowed with electric ranges according to the building’s initial project. The decision comes as a result of the fact that the families living in this type of flats pay the same tariff for the electric energy as the other city residents, in conditions when their buildings do not enjoy connection to gas supply.

A municipal councilor, Veronica Herta, considers that, through the approval of this decision, the number of blasts caused by incorrect use of gas cylinders will decrease. ‘’This is a first step for the tragedies, which we had in the city due to the use of gas cylinders in apartments, never occur,’’ Herta said on social networks.    

There are 121 blocks of flats non-connected to gas pipeline in Chisinau, which means about 50,000 apartments.
