Chisinau city hall bought compactor for waste landfill in Tantareni

Chisinau, 19 January /MOLDPRES/- Chisinau city hall has purchased a machine that ensures the technological compaction of household waste stored in Țânțăreni landfill.

The city hall announced today that it has bought the first solid waste compactor in Moldova, a machine that allows dense compaction of waste to eliminate the penetration of precipitation into substrates and reduces the possibility of fires. The acquisition was possible due to co-financing from the National Ecological Fund, which contributed 5.8 million lei and the city hall, which allocated 1.025 million lei.

In early 2021, the Chisinau city hall said it has extended by one year the waste storage contract at the landfill in Țânțăreni commune. About 650-700 tons of household waste are collected daily from Chisinau.
