Moldovan head of state has working meeting with High EU Advisers in Moldova

Chisinau, 6 February /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu, along with the team of presidential advisers, today had a working meeting with the participation of the High EU Advisers who work in Moldova, led by European Union’s Ambassador Peter Michalko.  

According to the presidential press service, the two teams exchanged opinions on the present state of things in the intervention sectors of the European advisers – Energy, Anticorruption, Justice, Combating money laundering, Administrative Reform, Education. The advisers shared their vision on the situation and discussions priorities of cooperation in the long run.  

„I thanked the European Union for the fact that, through this project, it has been helping our institutions for more years, contributing to the strengthening of their capacities and to the carrying out of reforms in Moldova. At the same time, we agreed on maintaining an active dialogue, for a consolidated approach of the sectoral issues,’’ President Maia Sandu said at the end of the meeting.  

For his part, Ambassador Peter Michalko said that the EU High Advisers represented a valuable component offered to Moldova. ‘’We hope that the Presidency will also benefit from their expertise. We encourage the inclusion of more sides interested in the dialogue, in order to facilitate the wide support and its efficient implementation,’’ The EU Ambassador said.    

The meeting took place in the context of the elaboration of the Multi-Annual Indicative Programme 2021-2027 for Moldova, which represents the principal document of programmes, which defines the sectoral priorities of development for the next seven years.
